The vibrant city and island of Key West is located at the southernmost point of the United States in the Florida Keys, which are a grouping of around 1700 islands, and it lies around 24 kilometers south of Miami. The island is situated in the Florida Straits, which separate the Atlantic Ocean from the Gulf of Mexico, and its southern tip is a mere 150 kilometers from Cuba.
