The scenic port city of Marmaris is situated on the Mediterranean Sea in southwest Turkey’s Mugla Province, around 20 kilometers north of Turunc and 11 kilometers northwest of Adakoy. Althought settlement can be traced back to the 6th century BCE, this onetime quiet fishing village has become a favorite destination among boating and yachting enthusiasts from around the world during modern times, thanks to its warm, sunny climate and close proximity to a number of other popular ports.

Marmaris is also an excellent location for sailing and diving, so adventuresome travelers will find plenty of activities to satisfy the need for excitement. Also of note, the 5 marinas here have grown to offer nearly every amenity seasoned maritime travelers have come to expect, including excellent wintering services. The city is attractively nestled between two mountain ranges and also boasts a thriving nightlife, as well as a wide variety of shopping and dining opportunities.

There are ferry services to the Greek island of Rhodes, and large cruise ships call at the port.
