Chaguaramas can be found in the North West Peninsula of Trinidad not far from the capitol city, Port of Spain. During the Second World War this entire area was leased to the U.S.A. for the construction of a naval base, and at its height there were over 30,000 U.S. troops stationed here. Now the Chaguaramas region includes the peninsula and five off-shore islands and its location well south of the hurricane belt makes its natural harbours ideal for yachtsmen and boaters.

The dockside facilities are easily recognizable due to their pink colour that comes from the bauxite ore dust that is the primary mineral transhipped from ocean going vessels to the shore at Chaguaramas. The waterways in and around the peninsula are warm and crystal clear making them ideal for swimmers, snorkelers and divers. Come see the huge natural diversity that exists in the National Park, a must see for any visitor.
