Björholmen is on the island of Tjörn, just north of Göteborg Sweden. It has long been a haven for artists and craftsmen, because the island has fantastic light and atmosphere. While the winter can be cold, the summer months see an influx of people, including boating and yachting enthusiasts, coming to enjoy the beaches and many art galleries located throughout Björholmen. In fact, a major highlight for many tourists and residents is the Nordic Watercolor Museum, and any visit to the island should include a stop here.

There is a 1 percent rule on the island, meaning that 1 percent of all purchases go towards supporting the many local artists. This has allowed many famous artists to develop a strong start in their careers. For example, Karl Nordstrom lived and worked on the island as well as Anders Zorn and Thor Bjurströmm who have summered here. The island boasts many recreational activities and cultural events for boating and yachting enthusiasts. Come and see what it has to offer.
