The town of Oxelösund is situated on the eastern coast of Sweden, southwest of Stockholm and southeast of Nyköping on the Baltic Sea. After growing up as a thriving industrial centre, in modern times Oxelösund has also become a popular tourist destination for savvy boating and yachting enthusiasts from around the world during the summer months. This is due, at least in part, to its excellent natural port, which has been used for more than 500 years, but it is also due to the area’s close proximity to Stockholm.

In fact, Oxelösund is an excellent base from which to explore the region’s entire archipelago by sea, so be sure to plan at least a few excursions while visiting. In addition, adventuresome seafaring travelers will enjoy the many water sports offered in the region, including kayaking, sailing, canoeing and fishing. In addition, the beaches here are second to none, boasting diving towers, seaside dining and exercise trails.
