The village and island of Dalarö is situated in the eastern Stockholm archipelago, around 45 kilometers from the city’s centre, and just over 50 kilometers from Bullandö. Today, this onetime quiet medieval fishing village has become a popular tourist destination for savvy boating and yachting enthusiasts during the summer months, thanks in part to its warm, sunny climate and rich cultural history. In addition, Dalarö provides maritime travelers with a great base and easy access to explore the entire Stockholm Archipelago, and has been a resort since the mid-19th century.

While visiting Dalarö, be sure to venture inland long enough to experience the charm of this quaint seaside village, which boasts a traditional Swedish church from the mid-17th century, as well as a variety of the picturesque wooden homes that are characteristic of the region. In addition, the area is popular for kite surfing, as well as for sailing and a variety of other water sports.
