The city of Västervik is the larger of the two and the county seat, while the village of Loftahammar is smaller and situated on a narrow peninsula. Today, both locations are popular tourist destinations for boating and yachting enthusiasts from around the world, thanks to the wide variety of dining, water sports, fishing and other fun activities that can be found throughout the region.

The village of Loftahammar is also a perfect base from which to explore the city of Västervik, as well as the many small islands that can be found throughout the region. Västervik is commonly referred to as the “Pearl of the East Coast,” and is home to two popular sailing clubs and a thriving seaport.
