The charming port city of Porto Colom is situated on the Bay of Cala Marcal, which can be found on the eastern coast of the island of Mallorca - part of the Spanish autonomous community of the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean Sea. The stunningly beautiful and vibrant city boasts the largest natural port on the entire island and is also the island’s most important surviving fishing centre.

Neatly divided by the old town and port area, Porto Colom is considered to have the best-preserved example of a historic old town that still exists in all of Mallorca, and it is the widely accepted birthplace of Christopher Columbus. In addition, the nicely appointed natural harbor allows ships to find safe refuge here and is watched over by the historic 14th century Santueri Castle, which stands at an impressive height of more than 120 meters.
