The island of Formentera is the second smallest in the Spanish Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands, which can be found off the eastern coast of Spain in the Mediterranean Sea. It is part of the Pine Islands archipelago, which makes it a perfect base for seafaring travelers who want to explore the many islands of the region.

Inhabited since prehistoric times, the island is home to a historic port at the Spanish harbor town of La Savina, as well as to the ultra-modern Formentera Marina, which lies just across the bay from the old port. Here, adventuresome travelers can take part in a variety of water sports, including fishing, diving, swimming and snorkeling, to name only a few! In addition, the island of Ibiza and ancient city by the same name are situated just to the north of Formentera. Here, visitors can experience a wide variety of cultural and historical attractions, and the coastline is absolutely gorgeous.
