The coastal town of Estepona can be found on the Mediterranean Sea in the magnificent Costa del Sol region of southern Spain. It is in the autonomous community of Andalusia and lies around 150 kilometers southeast of Cádiz and 95 kilometers southwest of Málaga.

Occupied since Roman times, today the town is a popular tourist destination for yachting enthusiasts, thanks in part to its average of 325 sunny days every year and pristine beaches. Interestingly, the port and marina at Estepona is still a thriving fishing centre, despite its dual role as a holiday destination. As a result, a number of excellent restaurants and pubs regularly serve up the day’s catch and fishermen can be found plying their wares each day on the quays. In addition, a weekly market is held each Sunday in the port, while the town centre boasts a second weekly market on Wednesday that is also worth checking out.
