As the second largest island in the Seychelles, Praslin lies around 44 kilometers north of the island of Mahe in the Indian Ocean, around 1,500 kilometers east of south-central Africa and northeast of Madagascar. The Seychelles are a stunningly beautiful island country and archipelago that is made up of more than 115 islands, and boasts a pleasantly warm, humid climate that varies little, remaining between 25° to 30° Celsius all year long. As such, the region has become a popular destination among boating and yachting enthusiasts from around the world, who come to enjoy the scenic beauty, excellent climate and rich culture of the area.


The island of Praslin boasts a variety of popular resorts and pristine beaches and is covered with many acres of tropical forests. There is an airport on the island, which lies in close proximity to a number of smaller islands and islets, making this an ideal base from which to explore by sea.
