The tropical island of Canouan lies in the southern Antilles Sea in the nation of St. Vincent and the Grenadines – which is part of the Caribbean island chain that is known as the Windward Islands. Although it is small (only 5.5 by 2 kilometers in total), as one of more than 600 islands in the region, Canouan is not only beautiful, but it is also an excellent base from which seafaring travelers can explore the surrounding islands.

Also of note, a stunning barrier reef borders the Atlantic side of Canouan, providing excellent snorkeling and scuba diving opportunities. In fact, it is a veritable adventurer’s paradise, with a variety of water sports, tennis, hiking, and, of course, gorgeous white sand beaches. The climate here ranges from 24ºC to 30ºC during the day from March through October, while the driest time of the year is typically between December and May.
