The picturesque island of Raiatea is one of the Society Islands of French Polynesia in the South Pacific, just south of Taha’a and southeast of Bora Bora. It is somewhat smaller than Tahiti, which lies to the east, and almost the entire island is enclosed by a stunning coral reef. Today, Raiatea has become a popular destination for savvy boating and yachting enthusiasts from around the world, thanks to its fantastic climate and pristine beauty.

The main port of Raiatea can be found in the city of Uturoa, which lies on the northernmost tip of the island, and provides excellent access to the many surrounding islands. With more than 4,000 square kilometers and 130 islands to explore, even the most adventuresome seafaring travelers will find plenty to keep them occupied while visiting Polynesia. Of particular note, consider checking out Maupiti, which is situated northwest of Raiatea.
