The Netherlands Antilles, also informally known as the Dutch Antilles, was an independent Caribbean country inside the Kingdom of the Netherlands. It is made up of two groups of islands, namely the “Leeward Islands” and the “Windward Islands.” The location of the islands and the origins of the earlier settlers on the islands are just some of the many reasons for the country’s interesting and mixed culture.
With its prime location facing the Atlantic Ocean, the spectacular port town of Oyster Pond in St. Martin Island serves as a safe and secluded harbor for boating and yachting enthusiasts from all over the world. Even though the town does not have a beach of its own, there are many nearby beaches that you can enjoy. Tourists can also access a wide variety of first-rate amenities like excellent dining, superb shopping and an exciting nightlife. Furthermore, the port town also serves as a base for exploring the scenic neighboring islands, coastlines and reefs
