The charming seaside city of Trapani is situated on the western coast of the island of Sicily, which lies just off the southwestern coast of Italy in the Mediterranean Sea. Trapani is located around 370 kilometers west of Taormina and around 400 kilometers northwest of Syracuse near the Tyrrhenian Sea. Today, this ancient settlement has become a popular tourist destination for boating and yachting enthusiasts from around the world, thanks in part to its warm, sunny climate, excellent amenities and stunning beauty.

While visiting Trapani, be sure to take the time to explore the many smaller islands in the vicinity, including Tunisia, the Egadi Islands and Sardinia. In addition, even seafaring travelers should venture inland long enough to enjoy the fabulous fresh local seafood, as well as to tour some of the many historical attractions located in the area. For example, the old town of Trapani contains a large number of exquisite Baroque-style buildings.
