The small, picturesque town of Taormina is located on the northeastern shore of the island of Sicily, which lies just off the southwestern coast of Italy in the Mediterranean Sea. Taormina is situated around 150 kilometers northeast of Santagata di Militello and around 275 kilometers north of Syracuse on the Ionian Sea, an area that is a popular tourist destination for boating and yachting enthusiasts from around the world in modern times, thanks in part to its excellent climate, rich history and wide variety of attractions.

While visiting Taormina, be sure to visit the area’s many pristine beaches, as well as a variety of the ancient ruins that are located in and around the town. For example, the cathedral, or ‘Duomo,’ dates back to the 13th century, while the nearby Greek Theatre, or ‘Teatro Grego,’ is one of the most popular tourist attractions on the entire island.
