The Italian city of Olbia is located on the northeastern coast of the island of Sardinia, which lies just off the south-central coast of western Italy, around 17 kilometers from Portisco. Inhabited since the Neolithic Age, today Olbia is a bustling city that is alive with industry and has also become a popular tourist destination for boating and yachting enthusiasts from around the world, thanks in part to its pristine natural beauty and excellent Mediterranean climate.

Olbia and the surrounding area boast a number of marinas for seafaring travelers to choose from, including the Marina di Olbia, and others at the nearby towns of Porto Rotondo, Portisco and Poltu Quadu. While visiting, be sure to venture inland long enough to visit some of the local attractions, including the old town centre, the Corso Umberto I, which is the main shopping district, and the lively nightlife.
