The coastal city of Pescara is situated in the Abruzzo region of Italy on the Adriatic Sea, around 300 kilometers southwest of Ravenna and 175 kilometers west of Split. Settled around 1600 BCE, the area boasts a rich cultural history, as well as a warm, sunny typically Mediterranean climate, helping to make this area a popular destination for boating and yachting enthusiasts from around the world during modern times.

The marina at Pescara is located just south of the Aterno-Pescara River, quite close to the main commercial centre of town, which is centered around a street called the Corso Umberto. The coastline here is spectacular, thanks in part to the surrounding Maiella and Gran Sasso mountain ranges. Also of note, the city boasts a magnificent ancient old town centre, a number of seaside resorts, and a wide variety of excellent shopping and dining opportunities. Also of note, the beaches here are bustling with activity, with many excellent fresh seafood restaurants available.
