The town of Porto Azzurro can be found in the Tuscany region of Italy on the eastern coast of Elba Island in Mola Bay on the Mediterranean Sea. It lies around 25 kilometers southeast of Elba Marciana Marina and 15 kilometers southeast of Portoferraio on the Channel of Piombino. Founded in the early 17th century, this once quiet fishing village is now home to a variety of historical attractions, including the impressive San Giacomo Fortress and the Sanctuary of Madonna di Monserrato.

In use since ancient times, the port is popular today among seafaring travelers exploring the region, thanks to the fantastic beaches and deep, protected harbor. Also of note, a variety of excellent dining opportunities exist – some of them directly on the water! Adventuresome visitors can take windsurfing, water-skiing and sailing lessons, while the main square of the old town is located directly on the sea and is a popular meeting place for residents.
