As the largest marina in the entire country of Greece, Kalamaki is located in Athens on the Saronic Gulf of the Aegean Sea close to Piraeus. It is fully equipped with a variety of services within walking distance to assist travelers, including restaurants, card telephones, yacht chandlery, grocery delivery, fuel, and transportation into Athens proper. In addition, the International Airport of Athens is located a mere 45 minutes away from Kalamaki, while water and electricity are provided on the pier free of charge.

Although it boasts more than 1000 places to moor a vessel, Kalamaki is typically quite busy, especially on Saturday and Sunday. It is nonetheless an excellent starting point for exploring the Greek islands, and many land-based sightseeing tours are also available for the city of Athens and surrounding areas. Commonly regarded as one of the sunniest cities in the world, the summers are hot and dry while winters are colder and wet, making the spring and summer months the best time to visit. While here, be sure to venture inland long enough to visit the Acropolis and the National Archaeological Museum to get a real taste of the rich history of the region.
