The town of Breege can be found on the northern portion of the island of Rügen, which lies in the Baltic Sea off the coast of northeastern Germany, just 30 kilometers north of Stralsund and around 170 kilometers northeast of Rostock. Founded during the late 12th century CE, today the area has become a popular tourist destination for boating and yachting enthusiasts from around the world, thanks in part to its warm summers and rich cultural heritage.

Seafaring travelers who are visiting Breege will thrill to the many coves and inlets that are just waiting to be discovered in the surrounding waters, including the deeper waters of the Great Jasmunder Bodden. This area is a natural mix of fresh water and salt water, serving as a visual marker to denote the boundary waters of the southern Baltic Sea. It is a rich breeding ground for a variety of sea creatures, but today it has also become a popular place for adventuresome visitors to dive and swim.
