The lakeside community of Ludwigshafen am Bodensee is situated in the Baden-Wurttemberg state of southern Germany, around 30 kilometers northwest of Konstanz and 65 kilometers northwest of Lindau. It lies on the western shores of Lake Überlingen, which is part of Lake Constance, also known as the Bodensee. Inhabited since the stone age, today the area has become a popular destination for boating and yachting enthusiasts from around the world, thanks in part to the scenic beauty, many attractions and excellent water sports that can be found throughout the region.


Throughout the summer months, visitors will enjoy regular festivities in and around the harbor, including beach parties, open-air markets and the Lake Festival, which is held in mid-August. In addition, world-renowned sailing and surfing schools can be found here, while water skiing and wakeboarding are also quite popular among visitors and locals alike.
