The town of Hyères can be found in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of southeastern France, around 20 kilometers east of Toulon and 85 kilometers southeast of Marseille on the Mediterranean Sea. Inhabited since the 4th century BCE, today the city is a popular tourist destination for boating and yachting enthusiasts, especially in the winter, thanks to its warm, sunny climate.

The islands of Porquerolles, Port-Cros and Le Levant are situated just off shore from Hyères and provide ample opportunities for adventuresome seafaring travelers to explore. The old town here can be found just 4 kilometers from the harbor and is home to the impressive hilltop Castle of St. Bernard. The marina in Hyères is one of the most popular in the region, thanks in part to its impressive list of amenities, but even the most discriminating of travelers will easily find a suitable location to dock among the six ports in the area.
