The stunning Dalmatian city of Split is situated on the eastern shore of the Adriatic Sea in southeast Croatia, around 30 kilometers east of Trogir and 150 kilometers southeast of Zadar. Split encompasses much of an entire peninsula in the Mediterranean, and is situated quite close to the breathtakingly beautiful Apennine Peninsula and numerous Adriatic islands, making this an excellent base from which seafaring travelers can easily explore the entire surrounding region by boat. As a result, the area has become a popular tourist destination for boating and yachting enthusiasts from around the world, thanks in part to the region’s warm, sunny climate and rich, cultural history.

While visiting Split, be sure to venture inland long enough to view the many attractions, including the city’s ancient historic centre, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as the two impressive archaeological museums that are located here.
